Hello Rick.

Try the following troubleshooting:

1.)Uninstall the extension from EM.
2.)Close DW.
3.)Clear your DW cache file.
4.)Download fresh copy of the extension from the product page.
5.)Install the extension in EM
6.)Proceed the install shield in DW.
7.)Restart DW when the install shield in DW is completed.
8.)Try to place the extension again on blank page.

If you are trying to update pages which are created with earlier versions of the Nivo Slider. Please note that you must update each old Nivo Slider instance by opening the Nivo Slider dialog from the "Slides" button on its property inspector and then just click on the OK button.

I cannot find a cache file to clear. Followed instructions on "Clear your DW cache file" and I cannot find any file with the name given in the configuration folder (DW 5) or anywhere on my HD. I assumed it was already deleted. So I tried to reinstall a fresh copy from the product page and I still get the same "internal error. contact technical support staff" message.

Please forgive my ignorance, however I have no idea what you mean by "proceed the install shield in DW" or even what an install shield is. But, I could not even get to that step anyway.

NOTE:
Locations for Vista apply to Windows 7 as well.

Be aware that folders AppData in Vista and Application Data in Win XP/vista/7 are normally hidden. In order to unhidden them you need to:

For Vista:

Open new Windows Explorer window.
Press Alt to reveal the text menu.
Choose "Folder Options" from "Tools" menu. In the pop-up window go to "View" tab.
In the list of options find "Hidden fles and folders" section and mark "Show hidden files and folders". Press ok to Apply the change and to cloce the pop-up.

For Windows XP:

Same as for Vista except that you don't need to press Alt in order to reveal the text menu. It is always visible

If you are using MAC OSX:

Open the terminal and type:

chflags nohidden /Users/<Username>/Library

or use an easier way:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/

This is especially helpful in Lion, yet it can be used in previous versions of Mac OS X.

The install shield in DW is dialog window which appear when the extension is successful installed in EM and DW is restarted.

Can you please provide me with information about your Extension manager version and your OS?

Sorry, I should have checked further. Now that I have deleted the cache I am getting errors for HTML5 Slideshow, DMXzone Supersized and Universal CSS Navigation Menu. It is getting worse.

Hello Rick.

Are you receiving *js errors when the DW starts , or when you are trying to install the products on your page ?
Can you type me the exact text which displays in the alertboxes please?

Regards:Vulcho.

Yes they are JS errors.

"While executing onLoad in dmxHTML5Slideshow10_onStartUp.htm the following JavaScript error(s) occurred: In File "dmxHTMLSlideshow10_onStartUp": onStartUp is not defined.

Same error for dmxNavigationMenu10, dmxSupersize10

Same error for all "HTML5Slideshow10, NavigationMenu10, Supersized10"
But onOpen is not defined

Sorry,
Yes they are errors when DW starts up. The only error I get when re-installing Nivo Slider is the ""internal error. Contact technical support Staff", "extension not installed"

Hello Rick.

Sorry for the late reply.
When the extensions which error are uninstalled from Extension Manager and Dreamweaver is closed.
Can you go to :
MAC: MacHD : Users : <username> : Library : Application Support : Adobe : Dreamweaver CS5 : <language> : Configuration : Startup

and delete the files:
dmxHTML5Slideshow10_onStartUp.htm and the other .htm files which are causing errors.

After completing that go to :
MAC: MacHD : Users : <username> : Library : Application Support : Adobe : Dreamweaver CS5 : <language> : Configuration : Commands : _notes

and delete the htm.mno files for the error extensions.

When you are ready, go to :
MAC: MacHD : Users : <username> : Library : Application Support : Adobe : Dreamweaver CS5 : <language> : Configuration : Commands :

and delete the onOpen.htm and install.htm file related to the uninstalled error extensions.

When completing that clear your DW cache file.

Start DW and open blank page and save it.
If the error messages disapeared, go to the product page and download fresh copies of the products and install them in Extension manager( You can use the DMXZone updater which will save you time : www.dmxzone.com/go/15527/dmxzone-updater-free-extension/ ). Restart DW, proceed the install shields for the products. When that is completed , try to use any of the error extensions on blank page.

I did everything you said and I still get the same on open errors when I first open DW5 before I even try to open a blank page? When I try to switch into "live view" I get the error "The following translators were not loaded due to errors: DMX.Facebook.htm has configuration information that is invalid" and the same for NivoSlider.

This is getting out of hand.

Hello Rick.

Probably your Dreamweaver corrupts the installations:
forums.adobe.com/message/2260933#2260933

Please try to rename your Configuration folder.(For example:Configuration1)

When you complete that please go and download the Dmxzone updater extension : Dmxzone Updater

Install the extension to EM and restart DW.
When you are again in DW click on the extension icon from the DMXZone Toolbar and click the "Not Installed" Tab. You will be prompted for username and password. Type the credentials that you are using for login in our site.
When the extension list gets populated, click on "Install All" button. Wait till all extensions are installed in Extension manager and restart DW.Proceed the install shields in DW. When the install shields are completed, please restart once again DW and try to use any of our products on blank page.
