I'd love to use this for a website that needs to allow the user to touch and hold an image to then be able to 'Save Image' to their photo gallery on an iPhone or iPad but that doesn't seem possible. Is there a work around?

You can try setting each image to link to itself or to a page where the image will be available for download.
