Well unfortunately Microsoft broke completely away of being backwards compatible so the new IE11 isn't IE any more but acts like it is a Firefox or Chrome browser.

However all the rich editing functionalities used by the editor in IE11 are still non standard IE only.

This renders the new IE11 completely broken for rich text editing.

We hope to be able to update the Advanced HTML Editor so it is compatible, but we fear that we will have to rewrite it completely.

So currently we advice our users to use a different browser than IE11 or add the site in IE11 compatibility mode sites lists so it runs with older IE engine.

See windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

Greetings,
George

Thank you for your reply, bad job from MS and the new IE 11 browser. And its working badly in the compability mode. So i will stick with FF or Chrome for now and hope you guys come up with a good solution for the use in IE11.

Thanks again,
Regards Morgan

Thanks for the update Morgan. You totally saved me. Phew...

My customers are mostly in their 60s using IE on windows and need this, so no chrome or firefox for me.

DMXzone, I completely understand the tough job you have keeping up with IE.
Based on so many changes to the web, I am now only able to use the AHE tool and the add-ons I got for them, out of all my extensions, so hoping you guys can solve this for us with an update to your jquery files at least.

Hi John, go to jquery.com/download/ and click the link "Download the compressed, production jQuery 1.10.2", alt right click and "save as".
In your sites local folder, open the folder called ScriptLibrary and rename the file called "jquery-latest.pack.js" to "jquery-latest.pack_OLD.js".
Then rename the new file you downloaded from jquery to "jquery-latest.pack.js" and put it into the ScriptLibrary folder in your site where you want to update the jquery file. Thats all.

I just updated to the latest version and when I test it locally with IE, the editor toolbars still don't appear and the form fails to submit the content. I did replace the jquery file, as described earlier and that does fix things. I won't be updating any of the sites yet, until I can be totally sure that the update actually works.

Hello Hans,

It seems you did not update your page properly or there are some old files left. You can check our latest Showcase which is using the updated version. By the end of this week this we will also update the rest of the showcases.

Hi Teodor,
You are quite correct, but I only discovered that when I created a new "site" in DW and then added the editor. I then copied all the new files in the Styles and ScriptLibrary to the original site and now it works fine. Maybe I needed to clear some cache to see it, anyway, it now does work fine, thanks.

Boy, those old files really are "sticky". I had to fully delete the dmxeditor files from the scriptlibrary as well as the jquery latest pack file and then re-apply the extension to get the latest version to update, but it did work.

I updated AHE 3.5.3 - including deleting the Cache and mno files. It loaded properly but it still didn't work in IE11. (I wish I knew which files I should have deleted first - to be sure the reload gave me the newest material). Then I updated the jQuery file (1.11) as suggested by Morgan - and all is well!
